JOB ADVERT- TRUCK DRIVERS - 07 POSTS

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

DSM Corridor Group Ltd is seeking to recruit Truck Drivers to join our Technical Department. The successful candidates will be responsible for operating heavy and light trucks in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.

 

The Candidate Duties and responsibilities (includes but not limited to)

1. Safely transport containers and cargo between DCG premises, the port, and client destinations in accordance with company schedules and route plans.

2. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure roadworthiness, cleanliness, and compliance with safety and maintenance standards.

3. Verify cargo and shipping documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with.

4. Load and unload cargo in coordination with warehouse and port teams, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage or loss.

5. Ensure timely delivery of goods and maintain communication with dispatch or the operations supervisor in case of delays, incidents, or route changes.

6. Monitor fuel usage and report mileage, fuel consumption, and any irregularities to the supervisor.

7. Submit proof of delivery (POD) and relevant documentation immediately after each completed trip.

8. Adhere strictly to traffic regulations, company safety policies, and driver conduct standards at all times.

9. Report mechanical issues or faults promptly to the workshop or maintenance team.

10. Assist in vehicle servicing schedules, ensuring preventive maintenance is completed on time.

11. Maintain trip logs, delivery records, and ensure accurate reporting of hours worked.

12. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by a reporting supervisor. Including Operate additional equipment such as Forklift, Wheel Loader, Excavator, and Bobcat to support daily operations when required.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

1. Valid Tanzanian Driving License – Class E , C required.

2. At least 3-5 years of proven experience driving heavy trucks or container carriers in a logistics, transport, or freight environment.

3. Knowledge of port operations, customs clearance.

4. Defensive driving or road safety training will be an added advantage.

5. Strong sense of responsibility, discipline, and time management.

 

 

1. Driving certificate from a recognized institution.

2. At least Ordinary Level education is preferred.

3. NIDA Card or NIDA number is required.

4. Willingness and ability to work night shifts.

5. Strong sense of honesty, timekeeping, self-supervision, and personal responsibility.

6. Ability to operate additional equipment such as Forklift, Wheel Loader, Excavator, Bob Cat.

7. Mechanical skills on heavy duty trucks or equipment will add advantage

 

Remuneration:

 

A competitive package with statutory benefits as per the law. The contract is for One (1) year, renewable upon successful performance.
